You know the type of guys whose hobby is to fix up and restore old Cars?

Saving Audio Recycling Volunteers are like that ...

except instead of Cars, it's stereo stuff

... after fixing it up, we give it away to local not for profit organizations!

what we do

First, we save it.

Re-use is always preferable to recycling.

Items we receive are not immediately sent through the recycling process but are saved for further re-use assessment.

(see 'What We Accept' below)

Then, we fix it.

Saved items are carefully sorted and examined for viability. We then determine if an item is repairable or useful for parts. Parts saved are used to repair other items.

Some of our volunteers have been in the audio electronics field for more than 40 years and possess a high degree of expertise and experience.

We perform; stereo repair, turntable record player repair, speaker repair, amplifier repair, AM/FM receiver repair... basically anything audio or high fidelity electronics related from consumer to professional level items.

Finally, we give it away.

Once we are satisfied with the performance and functionality of a reconditioned or repaired item, we then freely distribute these items to select locally founded and maintained Not for Profit Organizations.

Saving Audio Recycling also contributes to cultural organizations such as the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra, and to vocational programs at local Schools.

We provide an alternative for People who want to see their Electronic Waste put to re-use

Shredding stereo equipment at a recycling centre should be the last resort.

About saving audio recycling

Keeping it local. We're 100% volunteer driven!

Saving Audio Recycling is a Winnipeg-based, entirely volunteer environmental grassroots organization, comprised of life-long stereo electronics enthusiasts & technicians who believe in upholding the primary principle of re-use & repair and who acts to preserve still useable audio electronics by saving them from the inherently destructive process of recycling.

We function primarily as a free service to aid local Not for Profit Organizations in need of our help, and to assist members of the public in ethically disposing of their unwanted audio electronics.

Our group also serves as an education outlet by showcasing comparisons of restored items to illustrate the type of work we do during special events and for historical preservation.

Despite requests to do so, we can not provide repair services or equipment to individuals.

If you have any questions about our organization, please contact us.
